CHI offers many day support options which expose individuals to a variety of enriching community experiences and cultivate community involvement. Our goal is to help the people we support go beyond their challenges, finding volunteer work, employment, learning new skills or being part of their community. Matching their unique abilities and skills will help them succeed in life.
Over 400 individuals work with staff to explore a variety of opportunities in the community, based around each person’s interests and preferences. While guiding the individuals, staff helps them explore different opportunities to be productive members of the community. Whether working with supported employment or volunteering at DC Diaper sorting diapers, the people we support are remembered for their unique abilities.
To build community relationships, CHI establishes partnerships and secures employment, volunteer, and recreational opportunities, allowing the individuals to grow their abilities, skills and community relationships. Partnering with CHI Centers not only broadens the nonprofit’s diverse volunteer base but will strengthen community relations.
